Coromandel International Joins Gujarat’s Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav to Champion School Enrolment and Girl Child Education

Coromandel’s Ankleshwar Unit distributes school kits to 250 students, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and equitable education

Ankleshwar, 27 August 2026: Coromandel International Limited, one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers and part of the Murugappa Group, actively participated in the Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav — flagship initiatives of the Government of Gujarat — through its Ankleshwar Unit. The initiative, aimed at welcoming children into schools, promoting girl child education, and reducing dropout rates, saw Coromandel, under its Corovidya initiative, join hands with government officials, school authorities, teachers, community representatives and parents to celebrate the start of a new academic year for young learners.

The activity was conducted at the Government Hindi Medium Primary School, Juna Sakkarpor, Hajat, Nava Diva, Bharkodara, Nava Pungam, Ankleshwar block and Government High School, Vagra block, Bharuch, in coordination with the Education Department, Government of Gujarat, as part of the statewide enrolment drive. To support children’s educational journey and encourage regular attendance, school kits containing essential learning materials were distributed to 250 students. The programme was attended by teachers, school management committee members, parents, community leaders and students.

The programme was presided by Chief Guests Shri Deval Raval, Under Secretary – Tribal Development Department and Shri Ronak Mehta, Joint Secretary – General Administration Department, Government of Gujarat at the Juna Sakkarpor and Vagra schools, respectively. Speaking on the occasion, Shri Deval Raval commended Coromandel for its continued support to government-led education initiatives. He highlighted that programmes such as Shala Praveshotsav play a vital role in improving school enrolment, promoting girl child education, and ensuring that every child receives the opportunity to learn and succeed.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Pravin Jain, Unit Head – CPC Ankleshwar, Coromandel International Limited, said, “At Coromandel, we believe that a child who walks into a classroom on the first day of school is taking the most important step of their life. Shala Praveshotsav and Kanya Kelavani Mahotsav are not just government programmes; they are a reminder that the responsibility of educating our children belongs to all of us. Our Ankleshwar team is proud to stand alongside the Government of Gujarat in making schools more welcoming, more accessible, and better equipped for every child, especially our girls. It is a small act, but one we believe in deeply.”

The primary objective of these campaigns is to ensure that every child has access to quality education from an early age while fostering a welcoming and child-friendly learning environment. The initiatives focus on increasing school enrolment, encouraging student retention, promoting education among girls, and building awareness among parents and communities about the value of education. The distribution of school kits helps reduce the basic educational expenses borne by families and equips students with essential learning materials for the academic year. Through its participation, Coromandel aims to strengthen educational opportunities and contribute to an inclusive and equitable learning ecosystem.

Employees kits andeam members from Coromandel’s Ankleshwar unit actively participated in the programme — engaging with students, interacting with parents and teachers, assisting in the distribution of school kits, and supporting enrolment awareness activities.
