Coromandel Enhances Community Infrastructure in Visakhapatnam with Community Hall, Open Gym & RO Plant

Facilities inaugurated in Pilkavanipalem and nearby areas to promote wellness and community engagement

Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh), August 25, 2025: Coromandel International Limited, one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers, reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive growth by enhancing community infrastructure in Visakhapatnam through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. As part of this effort, the company inaugurated a new multipurpose Community Hall in Pilkavanipalem village, benefiting over 420 families. The facility offers a dedicated, accessible space for local celebrations, cultural programs, and social gatherings—strengthening community ties and promoting social cohesion.

The event was graced by Shri P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu), MLA – Visakha West Constituency, and Ms. Anga Durga Prasanthi, Director, AP Urban Finance and Infrastructure Development Corporation. Senior Coromandel leaders Mr. M. Gnanasundaram, Vice President & Plant Head, and Mr. C. Jayagopal, Head – CSR, were also present at the ceremony. The inauguration was attended by community leaders, SHG members, and civic representatives.

In addition, under its CoroNeer initiative, Coromandel inaugurated a Reverse Osmosis (RO) Drinking Water Plant. This facility now serves over 600 families across three villages—Kunchalamma Colony, Pilkavanipalem, and Uppara Colony—providing access to clean drinking water and supporting the physical well-being of residents across all age groups.

A Community Open Gym was also inaugurated in Sriram Nagar (58th Ward, GVMC), expected to benefit over 100 community members daily, including senior citizens, youth, and women.

Commenting on the initiative, Shri P.G.V.R. Naidu (Ganababu), MLA – Visakha West Constituency, said:

“In today’s world, access to clean drinking water and spaces that promote health and fitness are essential for a better quality of life. Coromandel’s contribution in this regard is commendable. These new additions will benefit people across all age groups—from children to senior citizens—and help foster a healthier, more engaged society.”
