Coromandel Commissions RO Drinking Water Plants to Enhance Safe Water Access in Cuddalore District

Clean water initiative to benefit over 1,000 residents in Thiruchopuram and Thiyagavalli villages

Cuddalore (Tamil Nadu), June 24, 2025: Coromandel International Limited, one of India’s leading agri-solutions providers, has inaugurated RO (Reverse Osmosis) Drinking Water Plants in Thiruchopuram and Thiyagavalli villages in Tamil Nadu’s Cuddalore district. This initiative, part of Coromandel’s CoroNeer project under its community development programme, aims to ensure consistent access to clean and safe drinking water for rural communities.

The inauguration was graced by Mr. Premkumar, Deputy Block Development Officer – Kurinjipadi Union; Panchayat Presidents; Government Panchayat Secretary; and village representatives. Also in attendance were Mr. Srinivasan K B, Vice President & Business Head – Bioproducts; Mr. Jayagopal Chathur, Head – CSR; Mr. Ashok Balaji S, AGM & Unit Head – Bioproducts; along with other senior employees from Coromandel.

Coromandel has invested ₹34 lakhs in setting up the RO plants across the two villages, with the aim of addressing one of the most pressing needs in the community—access to safe drinking water. The facilities are expected to benefit over 1,000 residents by mitigating waterborne health risks and improving community well-being.
