As a leading agri solutions provider in India, we constantly operate and transact in an environment that closely impacts the ecology and touches the society at large. We understand our responsibility towards maintaining the ecological balance and remain committed towards maintaining a sustainable ecosystem. We are continuously improving our Environmental Management practices. Our plants are amongst the greenest manufacturing units in India, with around 45 percent of the area under green belt coverage.

We have been constantly pushing ourselves on reducing our carbon and water footprint by technological interventions and aim to achieve zero liquid discharge operations. To bring transparency in our environmental compliance processes, we have deployed online emission monitoring systems across our manufacturing units which are connected to Pollution Control Board websites.

EGREE फाउंडेशनच्या सहकार्याने, कोरोमंडेलच्या काकीनाडा वनस्पती परिसर पूर्व गोदावरी जिल्ह्यातील ग्रे हेरॉन आणि पेंटेड स्टॉर्कसह विविध पक्ष्यांच्या प्रजातींसाठी सर्वात मोठे प्रजनन स्थळ बनले आहे.
येथील वनस्पती आणि प्राणी पर्यावरणीय प्रणालीसाठी वैविध्यपूर्ण आणि अद्वितीय आहेत आणि येथे सुमारे १०० प्रजातींचे पक्षी आढळतात, ज्यात प्रामुख्याने वॉटरफॉल्स, वेडर्स, फ्लेमिंगो, रॅप्टर, बस्टर्ड्स, कोर्सर्स, क्रेन, सँडग्राउस, लार्क्स, श्रीक्स, व्हीटियर्स आणि चॅट्स यांचा समावेश आहे.

The flora and fauna here are diverse and unique to the eco-system and house around 100 species of birds mainly Waterfowls, Waders including Flamingos, Raptors, Bustards, Coursers, Cranes, Sandgrouse, Larks, Shrikes, Wheatears, and Chats.

Our efforts at the Kakinada plant have been well recognized and have featured in reputed platforms like United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and Discovery channel.

जमीन पुनर्प्राप्ती - फॉस्फोजिप्समच्या ढिगाऱ्यांचे हिरव्या पट्ट्यात रूपांतर करणे

फॉस्फोरिअम अ‍ॅसिड उत्पादनाचे उप-उत्पादन असलेल्या फॉस्फोजिप्समला जागतिक स्तरावर विल्हेवाटीच्या समस्यांना तोंड द्यावे लागत आहे आणि त्याचे व्यवस्थापन करण्याचे प्राथमिक साधन म्हणजे गाळ्यांमध्ये साठवणूक करणे. फॉस्फोजिप्समच्या ढिगाऱ्यांमुळे केवळ जमिनीचे नुकसान होत नाही तर धूळ उत्सर्जन, माती आणि भूजल दूषित होते ज्यामुळे समुदाय आणि सरकारमध्ये असंतोष निर्माण होऊ शकतो.

अशा आव्हानांवर मात करण्यासाठी, कोरोमंडेलने जिप्सम हाताळणी ओल्याऐवजी कोरड्या स्टॅकिंगमध्ये रूपांतरित केली ज्यामुळे जिप्सममधील ओलावा कमी झाला आहे आणि जिप्सम स्लरी स्वरूपात वाहून नेण्यासाठी पाण्याची आवश्यकता कमी झाली आहे. पुढे, कमी आर्द्रता असलेले जिप्सम सिमेंट उद्योग आणि शेती / पीओपी उत्पादकांना पुरवले जाते.

आम्ही माती सुधारणा उपक्रमांवर आणि पडीक जमिनीचे वृक्षारोपणात रूपांतर करण्यावर देखील काम करत आहोत.

Phosphogypsum, a by-product of phosphoric acid manufacturing, has globally faced disposal issues and its primary means of management is storage in stacks. Accumulation of phosphogypsum heaps not only leads to land losses but also causes dust emissions, soil & ground water contamination which can lead to discontent amongst the community and Government.

In order to overcome such challenges, Coromandel converted its gypsum handling from wet to dry stacking which has reduced the moisture content in the gypsum and eliminated the water requirement to carry the gypsum in the slurry form. Further the gypsum with reduced moisture content is supplied to cement industry and in agriculture / POP manufacturers.

We are also working on soil remediation initiatives and converting waste land into plantation.

बायो-चार, बायो-खते आणि उर्जेच्या उद्देशाने भाताच्या पेंढ्याचा वापर

वर्षभर पीक लागवडीसह दुसऱ्या क्रमांकाची कृषी-आधारित अर्थव्यवस्था असलेला भारत, पिकांच्या अवशेषांसह मोठ्या प्रमाणात शेती कचरा निर्माण करतो. पुरेशा शाश्वत व्यवस्थापन पद्धतींच्या अभावी, भारतीय शेतकरी पिकांचे अवशेष जाळतात, ज्यामुळे जास्त कण उत्सर्जन होते आणि वायू प्रदूषण होते. कोरोमंडेल पंजाब कृषी विद्यापीठ आणि अ‍ॅस्टन विद्यापीठासोबत तांदळाच्या अवशेषांचे बायोचार म्हणून रूपांतर करण्याच्या तंत्रज्ञानावर आणि माती सुधारणा म्हणून त्याचा वापर करण्यासाठी काम करत आहे. बायोचार बायोमासच्या पायरोलिसिसद्वारे तयार केला जातो आणि कार्बन जप्ती आणि माती आरोग्य फायद्यांसाठी माती सुधारक म्हणून वापरला जातो.

पेंढ्याचे बायोचारमध्ये रूपांतर करण्याच्या प्रक्रियेदरम्यान, बायोमासमध्ये असलेले बहुतेक खनिज पोषक घटक बायोचार अंशात केंद्रित होतात, म्हणून मातीमध्ये बायोचारचा वापर करणे हे त्या पोषक घटकांचे शेतीच्या जमिनीत पुनर्वापर करण्याचे एक सोयीस्कर साधन आहे.
