‘Coromandel Plant Nutrition Award’ to recognize distinguished scientists
 

The awards honored two Indian scientists for their contribution to sustainable agriculture

New Delhi, December 13, 2024: Coromandel International Limited, India’s leading agri-solutions provider, in collaboration with The Fertiliser Association of India (FAI), constituted the ‘Coromandel Plant Nutrition Award, an initiative to recognize and honor the exemplary contributions by scientists in the field of plant nutrition and sustainable agriculture.

 

Coromandel Plant Nutrition Award which marks the theme ‘Sustainable Fertilizer and Agriculture” was given during the Inaugural Ceremony of FAI Annual Seminar 2024, held recently at Delhi. The event was chaired by Ms. Anupriya Patel, Hon’ble Minister of State of Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare who presented the Coromandel Plant Nutrition Award in the presence of other dignitaries from the fertilizer Ministry, fertilizer industry delegates from India and abroad and academia.

The award was given jointly to Dr. Ch. Srinivasa Rao, Director of ICAR-National Academy of Agricultural Research Management, Hyderabad and Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh, Director of ICAR-Central Research Institute for Dryland Agriculture, Hyderabad.
Dr Rao’s areas of work included climate change, Soil Carbon Sequestration, Rainwater Management, Climate Resilient Villages and Dr Singh’s work focused on System agronomy, conservation agriculture, precision farming, and farming system.

The Joint winners were felicitated with a memento, Certificate and cash reward of Rs 10 lacs. Chosen from among esteemed applicants by an expert jury panel, the award recognizes their exceptional contributions to agricultural research, particularly in plant nutrition and integrated nutrient management.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr. S.
